Pop-Up Gen Con at Gamezenter

Gamezenter will be hosting Pop-Up Gen Con 2021 on Friday, September 17 and Saturday, September 18.

For those who can’t make it to Gen Con Indianapolis, Pop-Up Gen Con is a way to bring the Gen Con experience to you: Discover new games, play old favorites, and celebrate the joy of gaming with your friends. What’s more, Pop-Up Gen Con gives you the chance to try out (and even purchase) hot new games before anyone else, without traveling any further than your friendly local Gamezenter.

Pop-Up Gen Con will be held

  • Friday, September 17, noon – 11pm, and
  • Saturday, September 18, 10am – 11pm.

While official Gen Con badges are not required to attend, those who purchase them will be able to pick up them up at Gamezenter, and will have priority for official events.

Covid Policy

To help mitigate the spread of Covid-19, Gamezenter provides disposable masks, hand sanitizer, and space for social distancing. While Gamezenter does not require masks, the CDC and Minnesota Department of Health recommend that people, both fully vaccinated and unvaccinated, continue to wear masks inside indoor businesses and public settings.

Our kitchen will be open both days, offering burgees, fries, pizza, and more. (Check out the menu here.) We also offer a wide selection of coffee drinks, soda, beer, and wine.

So Many Games!

Gamezenter features not only an impressive array of games for sale, but a well-stocked library of games that anyone can try out for free in our open gaming area. With so many games available, you’re sure to find something you like. (And if there’s something you want but can’t find, let us know and we’ll get it for you.)

Excited? So are we!

We’re thrilled to host Pop-Up Gen Con this year, and can’t wait to see everyone here!

We Are Live!

Pop-Up Gen Con is just a week away, and we’ve got two days’ worth of events lined up. While game demos at the convention don’t require you to do anything more than show up and ask, “How do you play this game?” the larger events have limited seating, so you will need to RSVP.

Here’s how:

  1. Select the event you’re interested in, below.
  2. Under the description, where it says, “RSVP Here,” click the button labeled “Going.”
  3. Fill in your name and email address. (Don’t change the number of guests, since you’re only allowed one guest per email.)
  4. Click the buttoned labeled “Finish.”

You will then receive an email with your RSVP ticket. (It might not arrive immediately, and might end up in your spam filter, so don’t freak out if you don’t see it right away.) On the day of the event, bring your ticket to the event to check in.
